IS NOT SAFE!!! LOL!!!
I had a MAD ATTACK this morning after I put just a tiny bit of country crock butter on my bagel this morning. I was down for ......OH....ABOUT.....AN HOUR WITH D and HORRIBLE NAUSEA!!!!!! I'm finally better, now that it's 2:00pm!!
Okay, so that was DUMB and I won't do that ever again! I was tired of plain bagels and I don't have a store around here that sells soy cream cheese or anything like that.
Well, I used Peanut Butter yesterday morning and my tummy was okay with that. So, I better stick with what works and stop trying to find new things to try!!!!!!
I think I'm trying to kill myself over here..Just kidding!! It does seem like it, though.

If you want "butter", take a look at the cheap store-brand canola oil-based stick margarine. Most of them around here are dairy-free -- but read the ingredients. The fat is high, of course, and maybe it's the fat that set you off in the first place. But, I know from the giant tub of it we have in the fridge that Country Crock has dairy ingredients, so that obviously doesn't help! (My husband loves the stuff ... I don't eat it obviously.)
Every "light" "butter" spread I've tried has been gross. Blue Bonnet Light is somewhat acceptable, but honestly, I'd rather eat whatever it is plain. I did get sick of plain homemade bread after awhile, so I would dump in 1/4 C white sugar, 1/4 C brown sugar, and 1 t cinnamon into the batter. It tasted awesome after all that plain bread, but it did turn the bread itself a sick grey color.

Yea, my husband loves country crock, too. That's all we had in the fridge and I thought just a TINY BIT would be okay. WRONG!!!
That's cool that you got creative with the bread, though. Thanks for the tip.....if I ever make it myself. I was telling Linz in another post that I have never made bread myself...not since 2000. That's sad!!!
