When "googling" chitosan it shows up as a soluble fiber made from shellfish and there are references towards helping IBS. But I trust the people here much more than the information on the web. Has anyone actually tried it?

thanks,

Hi,
As far as I know chitosan is used in vitamins and such for controlling the fat in what you eat. If you were dieting and trying to cut your fat intake you would take these to help do that. I don't know if it would help us with IBS or not. You could go to this website and poke around and ask questions about chitosan. www.andrewlessman.com
He produces and makes all natural vitamins. I am not trying to sell this to anyone either I just take some of his vitamins.

Chitosan is a material made from shellfish that is used to block fat absorption and marketed as a weight loss item. I have read no information on its relationship to IBS.
