Great Product!
After paying way to much money and "getting by" on grocery store fiber suppliments full of sugar and a host of other undesireable ingredients I finally did the math and realized that ordering bulk orders of Heather's Tummy Fiber would be cheaper and a much higher quality product. This fiber is wonderful, it is clean and I can put in in food or a glass of water. I have IBS-C and changing to this higher quality fiber is definitely making a positive difference in my symptoms. Great product and friendly, professional, customer service staff. I have found mixing 2-3 tablespoons of Heather's Tummy Fiber in a 16-20 ounce stainless steel water bottle (suit to taste/texture and shaking vigorously allows me easy access to extra soluble throughout the day and prior to meals. (Keeping it refrigerated helps too.) I'll be back for more!!

This stuff is really good and works very well. It took me a couple of months to adjust the dosage and now I'm doing very well!
Luckily, I didn't start out with 1/2 tsp. - I decided that I'd start out with about the same amount of Acacia Senegal as I was using with the Equate Vegetable fiber. Between the Acacia and the peppermint pills, I'm almost normal again! Wonderful! Thanks!

We both love acacia & the books.
I will be 76 next month, and have had IBS-diarrhea since I was pregnant with my fourth pregnancy,46 years ago. I finally found out four years ago that it was IBS, however the specialist had no idea how to treat it. He said it had nothing to do with food. I was looking up something for a friend on-line, & saw in the side scroll an add "Do you have IBS?" & your site. What a blessing. This product really works!
This is a great product. It keeps me regular. This is one product you really need to follow the directions on. Once you find your dosage amount keep it there and it works amazing. Mine right know is at 1/8 of a teaspoon and still works. I may try increasing the dose to 1/4 teaspoon. I know my dosage is lower then what the instructions say but 1/2 teaspoon was to much for me. Great Product!

Greatest Product Ever
For years I was told by doctors to eat fiber, broccoli, califlower, celery, apples, etc. For 20+ years I looked for every restroom in every building I entered. When I was 62, my mother told me her father had always peeled apples and called the skins poison. I was intriqued. I came across some literature by Heather and she said don't eat the skins. So I read on. I realized I had IBS. And I learned about soluble and insoluble fiber. I tried the acacia powder. It took 1 month but it changed my life. I told my doctor and he apologized for telling me to gorge on the wrong fiber. He said, "We didn't know." Well, if one has retired smart you dwell on the positive, not past mistakes. There are days I get messed up, of course. But invariably those are the days I messed up my tummy fiber routine. I swear by the product.

Use with my first cup of Peppermint tea. It has calmed things down.
I am 81 told that I had IBS 5 years ago. Peppermint tea and Tummy Fiber has moderated the symptoms. That and a change of diet has made this tolerable but not cleared up completely. Staying away from any more chemically based medicines.

Very good for IBS
I sprinkle 2 table spoons of Acacia fibre and 2 table spoons of oat bran on to 1 cup of raisin bran cereal with fruit every morning and take 1 gel cap of Flaxseed oil (1000mg) everyday. My IBS symptoms have been reduced by about 90% and my life is almost normal again.

It's working!
I tried an acacia fiber from the local health store first to see if it would work for my IBS. It did so I decided to order from Heather because it was less expensive bought in bulk even with shipping cost factored in. My Chiropractor also recommended plant enzymes because he felt that my food wasn't digesting but fermenting instead and causing gas 24/7. I started on them a week ago and I feel completely normal once again. So between the acacia fiber. probiotics, and plant enzymes plus avoiding gluten and following Heather's guide lines I have my life back!

I can't say enough about the amazing effectiveness of Acacia Sengal Tummy Fiber. My boyfriend's life was terribly disrupted by digestive issues. The Jury is still out!
I have been taking the Tummy Fiber since before Christmas. My IBS changed to about every hour - not hard not soft and pretty small. As I encreased so did the gas. Yesterday I went back to Citrecil and even though I am still going frequently I don't have as much gas. I gradually encreased my Tummy Fiber by a half tsp every week and the more I took the more gas I had so I backed off which did no good. I am still on the program along with the CD's Help!!

Some people are a little more sensitive to it, so you might consider starting low again and increasing just by 1/4 tsp or even 1/8 tsp until you see a resolving dose. If you do start to see increased gas and bloating, don't add any more fiber. You could also try some good strong Fennel Tea. Fennel does wonders for gas and bloating, and provides some instant relief. If you do decide not to take the Acacia fiber, you can return it to us for a refund. Your Product is a miracle in a can
I have suffered from IBS problems since having radiation for Uterine cancer years ago. My GP just talked about watching what I eat, but seemed to take my condition too lightly. One day I decided to check on the Internet to see if I could find something that would apply to my condition. I found Heather's website and to my delight found all the information I needed. All of your products have helped me a lot
I use the fiber, peppermint caps and tea and now mu daughter is using them. They have helped a whole lot. I can only use the fiber for 5 or 6 weeks then have to switch to something else for 5 or 6 weeks then can go back. Everything I use stops working after that amount of time. The girl at your business says to use more but it's too expensive for that so I didn't try it. I pretty much quit drinking coffe and drink your tea all the time. I find I can get several cups out of one tea bag. I love it. I'm so happy I found your products.

Thirteen months ago, I was in the hospital in Chelsea, MI for 11 days. I had taken my Acacia Fiber with me, which was confiscated, and then doled out to me twice a day by the nursing staff. As the directions show, I started with a small quantity, 1/2 teaspoon twice a day and have gradually worked up to 1 teaspoon twice a day. I am still having a lot of problems, especially with excessive gas, so am I using too much or too little? I am going to give it another 4 weeks. If I don't see much improvement, I will return the other two unopened packages. I am also using the peppermint oil once a day at lunch time.

Heather says: Feedback Rating Hi there, Soluble fiber supplements (like Acacia Tummy Fiber) can work wonders for constipation, yes. But they are NOT an overnight solution, and they're definitely not drugs. It makes a great deal of difference how you take a soluble fiber supplement, and it's well worth the time and effort to do it right. First of all, these are the best ways to NOT get the results you want from a soluble fiber supplement: * Try one at a low dose for a few days, then give up because there's no change. * Go from zero to the maximum dose in one week flat, then give up because it's not working and now you're all bloated and gassy as well. * Start taking one at the same time you stop taking laxatives, enemas, or colon cleanses you've been using regularly, then give up because your constipation is suddenly worse, not better. The cardinal rule with a soluble fiber supplement (SFS) is to start at a low dose (for Acacia, just 1/2 a level measuring teaspoon, twice daily), and increase gradually. Constipation often requires a much higher daily dose of a SFS than diarrhea, and it can take several weeks, or even a few months, to slowly work your way up to the maximum daily dose. SFS are not laxatives, and they will not give "overnight relief", so taking a low dose of one for a few days will not alleviate your symptoms. What it will do is begin to acclimate your gut to a higher daily dose of fiber, and this is the goal. Don't give up as soon as you start - just realize that using a SFS is a slow, steady process. You will see improvements along the way. It's tempting to think that if you need to reach the maximum dose to see the best results, you can just force your body to adjust to a high dose as fast as possible. After all, if your constipation will resolve on a SFS dose of, say, 25 grams a day, and it might typically take someone, say, 8 weeks to reach that dose, you'll be way ahead of the game if you race your way up to that dose in your very first week - right? Nope - wrong. By definition, if you have IBS, you do not have a normally functioning gut. No matter how your IBS symptoms manifest (constipation or diarrhea, bloating or pain) your GI tract - and specifically, your gastrocolic reflex - is hyper-reactive to normal stimuli. Your goal should always be to keep your gastrocolic reflex stable so you can soothe and regulate your gut function. Suddenly overloading your bowel with a fiber dose that is possibly ten times what you were taking before you started a SFS will do nothing but give you bloating and gas, as your GI tract struggles to deal with all of this unexpected fiber. Fiber is, after all, an undigestible carbohydrate, and your body needs to work to process it through your digestive tract. Asking your gut to go from no soluble fiber supplement to a maximum daily dose too quickly is like trying to become a marathon runner by sprinting as hard and as fast as you can without rest. It won't work, you'll be frustrated, and you'll give up. Instead, go slowly, increase your dose gradually, and give your body the time and gentle approach it needs to adjust to the SFS increase. You can't beat your colon into submission with IBS, you need to kindly, patiently, and consistently coax it into normal motility. A SFS can help do this for you if you give it a fair chance. doesn't works for me, it aggraves my diarea crisis
I bought 3 pouches because I have confidence but I lost money because I've used only one bag. Before I take it, I had one crisis per week or 2 week, but after I began to take this, I had crises every 2 days, and I take it exactly as described. Now, since I had stopped to take it, I feel better, one crises per week...mostly when I go to restaurant, so I suppose it's because of stress. But I'm happy that this product works for some people who have diarea...but for me, only diet can help...but I can drink milk and cheese without problem (I drink about 2 litres of skim milk per day) but many vegetables and fruits I cannot eat because right after I have crise. Sorry for my bad english, I'm francophone of Montréal, Canada, bye bye

The cans and pouches are filled with the exact same acacia fiber. We actually package them at the same time, so you could get the same lot in a can as well as a pouch. It isn't the packaging that is making the difference here, it is the lot number. The Tummy Fiber is certified organic, all natural gum of the acacia tree - also known as gum arabic. We have actually sourced the exact same organic Acacia Senegal grade from the same supplier from the time our company was founded. It is collected much like maple syrup, though the gum is more a solid than a liquid. They are amber colored, crystal-like pieces; these pieces are what the acacia gum looks like when it is collected from the outside of the tree. The gum is then dissolved in water, filtered, and the liquid is sprayed onto very large heated surfaces to sterilize the fiber and so the water can evaporate. What's left after the water evaporates is the fine, white powder that is acacia fiber. There are no chemicals used in processing the acacia, and every step from the orchards to the processing to our packaging facility is certified organic. Because this is a natural gum with nothing added, and not a synthetic product that is highly processed, the grain size of the finished powder can vary from lot to lot, and even within a single lot. Even though we have specs in place for the grain size to be consistent and the optimum granularity for dissolving easily in liquids, during the packaging process the conveying and vibrating activities can sometimes separate out larger grains of the gum. This can result in a handful of finished packages of Tummy Fiber that have larger or more irregular grain sizes, which can then take longer to dissolve in liquids. I'm including a list of tips we've come up with over the years to help fully dissolve the acacia in liquids or moist foods. TIPS TO DISSOLVE TUMMY FIBER 1) It works best if the liquid temperature is cool or lukewarm, not very cold or boiling hot 2) Add Tummy Fiber to an empty cup, mix it with add just enough liquid to dissolve it, then add the remaining liquid 3) Stir with a fork instead of a spoon 4) After stirring initially, let it sit for about 60 seconds, then stir again and any remaining lumps should dissolve 5) Sprinkle on moist foods while stirring it in instead of adding a big spoonful all at once If you are still unable to use the Tummy Fiber and are at all unhappy, please let us know and we will replace or refund the product. Rating is a 3 these days as I am having much trouble.
I have had IBS C for many years and now it is much worse. Dr says my age is a part of it, I'm 84, and I have very bad constipation daily. I try to follow the diet but am getting nowhere.My straining to have a bm caused palpitations for an hour one day, and nose bleeding on several occasions. I titered up more slowly since I tend to be very sensitive to everything. This product does really work for constipation dominant IBS. I was terribly bloated with other products and this gave the least side effects of anything I have tried and I am not even sure there are side effects because my gastrointestinal system really acts up sometimes for no reason. Heather says: Hello Wendy, I am so sorry about the delay in shipping to Canada. Have you received your order? Your order shipped out on 7/11, and normally orders to foreign countries take 3-7 business days. Sometimes, however, foreign orders are held up at Customs. It is very frustrating for us as well because it seems to be totally random as to whether Customs will hold an order and for how long. We have customers that order from us regularly for years without any complications and then out of the blue one of their packages will be detained for weeks on end. Unfortunately, the US Postal Service does not provide accurate tracking for international packages weighing less than 4 pounds. So when I track your package the information does not even show it has left the United States. It has been our experience that Customs can hold packages for 6-8 weeks sometimes. This doesn't happen to all packages, but occasionally especially with larger orders, it can happen. A delay like this is especially likely to happen when there are Customs fees due upon delivery. Sometimes orders will be held at the local post office, awaiting customer pick-up and payment of the Customs fees. This has actually happened in the past without the post office ever notifying the customer that their package was being held. If you have not received your package, you could check and see if your local post office does have the order for you. If things are held up in Customs, we just have to wait until they're finally processed through. All of their contact will be with you, so I never even know if Customs is holding a package until the customer passes this info along to me. Again, I do apologize for the delay! Occasionally, someone might pay a little more or a little less than the actual shipping charge, but in the end we sometimes break even. We do not, nor do we want to, make a profit on shipping. For IBS symptoms
Notice it doesn't really mix with cold water very well. It tends to get clumpy. Otherwise, it seems to help firm up loose stools, but I notice for myself, the dose can only be increased gradually, otherwise more bloating, etc. will occur. Overall though, a good product.

Heather says: Hi Sue - thanks for your feedback! You are right, the acacia dissolves best in room temperature liquids, not very cold or very hot liquids. There is a trick though. If you dissolve the acacia first in just enough room temp liquid to get dissolved, you can then add the acacia liquid to hot or cold beverages. And you are also right that you need to increase your dose gradually. That will get your gut used to more fiber (which is literally indigestible) without gas and bloating. Best, Heather

Tummy Fiber gave me my life back!
I suffered from IBS-D for the past 20 years. My stomach was so unpredictable that I stopped going out...to restaurants, movies, parks. I would venture out to stores as long as I knew where the bathrooms were, and would not eat until I was home. I started taking Heather's Tummy Fiber four years ago and it literally has given me back my life. I go out! To eat!! And to movies, on long car rides. Has it cured me 100%? No... Helps prevent diarrhea
I take 1/2 T of acacia powder before each meal. It helps prevent diarrhea. It's essential during travel. I would like to know more about its probiotic properties. Would it help prevent sotmach upset from taking antibiotics?

Tummy Fiber
I began using the tummy fiber daily over 5 years. As time goes on my IBS symtoms have greatly improved and I have been able to reduce the amount of the tummy fiber I use. I have been using Acacia for about seven months.
I have had IBS for 15-20 years. I have tried several products with limited success. The most helpful was Lomotol Which I used when I had an attack. While on Acacia I have needed th Lomotol much less. I take about 2 tsp. each morning which has brought vast improvement.
