Since discovering I had IBS-C about 3 months ago I have been doing the diet religiously (lost 10 lbs) and also getting back into shape with a variety of exercises, most notably yoga. It is offered at the health club so the practice is free to all and well worth the time and effort. I have 3 or 4 different teachers, some classes are termed Power Yoga, some Hatha, and some Yogilates. It really doesn't matter to me what class I take, they're all great for the body and having several different teachers means I'm getting a good variety of asanas and vinyasas.

I just got back from class and notice I'm feeling no pain in my abdomen, almost feels normal I also find it helpful to warm up thoroughly before the class. On some days I'll take a 3 mile hike, or like today I swam for 15 minutes, hit the hot tub, the steam room, then showered and went to class. Being loose before class helps the body do the stretches without unnecessary tenseness.
