I am beginning to swear also by the peppermint tea regimen. It soothing on many levels - aroma, texture, taste, its soothing physical effects, etc. Also, I do a lot of low-impact stretching, breathing and meditating while sitting on the floor -- or even something as simple as getting into bed a few minutes earlier to have time to cover up with a favorite book -- anything about nature is a favorite of mine -- maybe with the heating pad on my side, and must the soft golden light of my bedside lamp, quiet and tucked away in my bedroom.

The "silver lining" of this condition is that it gives one the gift of appreciating those "littler" things in life that might be overlooked by some who don't have such challenges as IBS and its related obstacles.
