Hi everyone, Rosemary here. My IBS really manifested itself about ten years ago, until that time it was an 'upset tummy' whenever I was under stress, never anything like the debilitating cramps and nausea that ensued. Fortunately, I have learnt to control the majority of my symptoms with the help of a wonderful naturopath and a diet that eliminated yeast, sugar, alcohol, dairy and preservatives and included meat, fish, fresh fruit and vegetables (organic if possible) and lots of spring water and herbal tea. I am now able to modify this diet but I have to be careful, not too much fat (cheese, etc.) or nuts (the cause of my last severe attack) they can be disastrous. Heather's advice has helped enormously with ideas and I do find that a mug of ginger tea is great for keeping the stomach settled.
However, I have decided to resurrect my interest in yoga for fun and fitness. It's been many years but the breathing is one thing I have never ceased and it helps enormously with IBS discomfort as well as with coping with stress. I have decided in my old age to do an Arts degree and find the stress of essay writing can cause IBS discomfort.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Rosie
