Trader Joe's has some incredibly awesome Spicy Apple Cider. I made baked apples and put about 1 inch of cider in the bottom of the pan. I used Rome apples. Remove the cores, fill cavity with brown sugar and a sprinkling of cinnamon. Put in a pan (I used a pyrex), add about 1 inch of apple cider and bake uncovered at 375 about 45 minutes or to the softness you like best. You can spoon the cider over the apples part way through and if the cider is cooking down, add more. My husband thought these were the best baked apples he ever had.He thought they would be awesome with clotted cream. Yeah, sure.
