6 mackrels 4 red chillies 2 flakes garlic 1 small piece ginger 1/2 tsp sugar 1 tsp. cumin seeds 1/2 tsp peppercorns 1 medium onion 1 tsp vinegar 1 tbsp tamarind juice 1/2 tsp tumeric powder salt to taste
Clean and wash and keep the fish whole. Grind together the remaining ingredients to a smooth paste with vinegar. Slit the fish on one side and stuff with ground mixture. Bake in moderate oven for a short while till cooked. Serve hot.
