The apple cake recipe       12/15/04 08:41 AM Edit Reply Quote mom4 Reged: 12/09/04 Posts: 15 Loc: central michigan The recipe turned out great. So here it is. Mom's Apple Cake(modified) Beat(whisk or spoon)--2 cups sugar 3 egg whites(organic) 1/4 cup canola oil 1 1/4 cups unsweetened applesauce Add--3 cups flour 1tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon Mix well Add-- 2tsp. vanilla 3 cups diced, peeled apples Stir well. It will be stiff. Keep stirring until moist and batter holds together. Bake-- 1 hour at 350 in 9X13 pan sprayed with cooking spray. Topping--2 cups powdered sugar and 4 tblsp water Pour over cake while the cake is still hot. It is still delicious, although the texture changed a bit. It is more cake like instead of, I guess heavy like and it's not dripping with oil like the original. I hope everyone enjoys it. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
