I love kasha... its BUCKWHEAT.. I have a few boxes in the house.. was debating trying it.. but isn't it insoluble fiber? and it is nothing like the soy crumbles you mention using.. I was thinking of making Kasha varnishkes because it would be a neat way to eat kasha again since the insolubles would be offset by the pasta.. its the only hot cereal I've ever been able to eat without getting nauseaus fromt eh taste and texture for some reason...

then again- DH and I discovered leftover mashed potatoes double as yummy breakfast cereal- hot!
