U.S. citizens, during business hours, Eastern time, please call the Washington, DC office of your member of the federal House of Representatives in support of HR 842,the Functional GI and Motility Disorders Research Enhancement Act. This bill is bipartisan and revenue neutral (uses funding that is already in the budget)and provides not only for research but for national education efforts on IBS (the most common FGIMD) and other FGIMDs, coordination with the FDA, etc. This Call in Day is being supported by several of the major GI organizations and IBS sites. Current sponsor/cosponsors are Reps. Sensenbrenner, Moore and Kind of Wisconsin, Moran of Virginia, Rush of Illinois, Brownley and Davis of California, and Welch of Vermont. If your Rep. is one of those, please say thank you. All others, please ask for their support. Thanks.
