I think the lost sleep is a combination of the recent increased temperature in Sydney, but also something subconcious is causing my mind to race...but I can never remember why.
On the diet front I haven't been using many of Heathers recipes, really because most appear quite time consuming, but I am am sticking to the core ingredients as best I can to try to avoid flare-ups.
I am not on any prescription meds, and haven't been for over two months as they weren't working for me but I am taking the following:
2 x Calcium D tablets (once per day) 1 x Multi-vitamin 1 x Acidopholus / Bifodofolus supplement with each meal 1 dose of metamucil with my evening meal (I was taking it twice a day until recently, but I think it was behind my flare up of D, so I have lowered the dose).
And now the weird stuff... These are all Chinese remedies prepared by my current 'accupuncturist / alternative therapist'
1 tsp of herbal 'Bowel mixture' (3 x per day) 3 tsp of a herbal powder (Ginseng & Astrag?) 2 x per day 5 drops of a herbal tincture (Arg NE +30)
I have also recently taken a few immodium on the really bad days.
Stress wise, it's probably as reduced as it can be; because due to IBS-D symptoms and overall anxiety that has developed as a result I have been forced to work at home for the past three months and have only been able to venture into the office half a dozen times in that period.
I do have a lot of work-related frustrations which probably wind me up too much, but they come with the job so short of quitting I am not sure that there is a way around those.
Sorry it all sounds doom and gloom, but at the moment that's just how it feels...I am so sick of being sick and I desperately need a break from this whole IBS thing!!
Anyway, thanks for your interest / help. I only hope that things will start to improve again soon.
