I am needing some insights into my life right now. I moved away from home to stay with friends near a college wanting to make the whole college thing work, but I have had nothing but trouble since I left. Understanding on the part of my friends and their relations as far as my diet is concerned is horrible. I am constantly forced into situations where I either have to eat someting I shouldn't or starve. I generally opt for the eating something I shouldn't because I get sick if I don't eat so it doesn't really matter. College hasn't even started yet and I'm afraid to even see what that will be like. Work is becoming a nightmare. I am constantly munching whether it is from boredom, stress, stomach pains, or a combination of all three(weight gain ). Abdominal pain, lack of sleep, and frustration is not an uncommon companion right now.I recently decided to go back home and take classes online to get things under control, but I'm feeling very frustrated and somewhat like a quitter for taking this option. I want so much to be able to handle my IBS better so I can go to the college I want. I'm even afraid to go out on a date because I'm afraid I'll scare them off if they even find out about a portion of my problems and what it all entails. I know others with IBS are making it out in the college world. I'm just wondering how. Sorry don't mean to be so negative. I've always dreamed of college( I was diagnosed with IBS in Jan.) and now that it's here it's more like a nightmare. Any thoughts on how I can better myself and my situation would be wonderful and greatly appreciated.
