I've related to many other members' stories here but none as well as to yours. It's uncanny how similar I feel as to what you've written.

I'm a 58 year old male, too, and the only difference between us in your first paragraph is that I DID have an MRI done. Otherwise you took the exact words that I've used out of my mouth (especially about realizing that cancer was ruled out).

Also, I have the exact same problem with my legs. I've been to two orthopedic surgeons who swear I need both of my hips replaced (x-rays showed bone deterioration) but I'm not believing it... I keep telling my doctor that the pain and discomfort in them is muscular and not joint-related. He's done blood tests to see if anything shows muscular issues and has only found that my folic acid is low (and has prescribed some supplement for me). I have been using a cane for three months and there are some days (most days, actually) that it is painful and tiring to just walk 100 feet.

I feel tired all the time... a monthly vitamin B-12 shot helps for a day or two but it doesn't last any longer.

MY IBS is diarrhea related, and for the past two years I've suffered with it. Lately it is not as bad as it had been... I just went two whole weeks without any symptoms but had a relapse on Tuesday.

I went to see a shrink to get treatment for depression but all he did was to prescribe meds which didn't agree with me.

Fred, I don't mean to make your issues all about me; rather I'm trying to show you that you are not alone in the issues. I wish I had some positive ideas or suggestions for you but I just wanted to let you know that what you are going through is not unique to you.
