Out of Breath and Rib Pain with IBS       11/25/08 02:20 PM Edit Reply Quote BarbaraV Reged: 11/25/08 Posts: 2 I was just recently diagnosed with IBS - just found out today that it used to be called Spastic Colon which I had when I was a teenager. I guess I've had issues off and on over the years but since having a colonoscopy about 30 days ago the IBS has flared up alot. I had the stomach bloating which, I believe is the cause of my getting out of breath fairly easy. I also have some rib pain which I'm thinking could be from my swollen belly pushing on my ribs. I also have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis in my spine so I wonder if either of these could be part of the rib issue. My doctor had me go off my arthritis medicine for about 2 weeks. Has anyone else had these issues? I do work out every day - walking on the treadmill, stationary bike which doesn't bother me. Walking up stairs - carrying a grandchild does. I'd appreciate any help.
