And as far as cocoa being a bowel stimulant I believe you are referring to the fact that caffeine can be a stimulant and yes, cocoa has some caffeine in it. If you look at the chart below you'll see that dark chocolate has 20 mill. of caffeine per one ounce (plus all the unwanted fat) yet a cocoa beverage only 6. web page If you're trying to avoid both an option might be to try carob.
