Anal Rash and ecoli strep       10/18/14 07:41 AM Edit Reply Quote Mhillqt Reged: 10/06/07 Posts: 174 Ive had an anal rash for several years - pretty intense itching....... developed excema at the same time under my neck.....the creams prescribed make it worse etc.....i went to dermatologist/proctologist and urologist in the last few weeks and it seems that it could be the hemmoroid causing it or excema....but the derma did a culture and it came back positive for ecoli and strep.....he said its common to find this in anal area? Anyway, he prescribed penicillin - oral....i havent been on antibiotics for years and afraid to take them due to IBS....not sure I know how to proceed? Since Ive had this itching for years, shouldnt it have gone away on its own if it were related to ecoli/strep? I also have panic disorder and often dont feel well ie stomach/ibs/anxiety issues and now my obsessive thinking is wondering if this ecoli/strep is causing my issues.......wonder if everyone has this down in that area?
