Allergies are just that allergies and not IBS triggers. They should be considered separate and distinct disorders from IBS.

The second elimination diet is just a common elimination diet but it has some misleading information one of which is assuming that GI gluten can be a trigger in absence of Celiac Disease.

As for the other chemical sensitivities - Shepherd and Gibson - the developers of the FODMAP approach - address these in one of their more recent articles
