Whey protein isolate is filtered to remove the lactose, fat and carbs. You might be able to use it. However some individuals have problems with milk proteins. It is something you will have to experiment with to see if it works for you as Heather and some other sources suggest that it can be a problem for some people.

If you decide to try make sure to check the ingredients list because frequently this supplement contains artificial sweeteners and other ingredients particularly if the product is flavored.

As you say pea protein is high in insoluble fiber. Some people claim that because things like pea and rice protein supplements are finely ground it isn't an IBS trigger. Many of us have found that no matter how fine insoluble fiber is ground it is still a problem. For example, a body builder who use to frequent this board found pea or rice protein gave him no end of problems. Furthermore there isn't any clinical evidence to support the notion that finely ground insoluble fibre less of a trigger. Pea protein is something you will have to experiment with too.
