I once was taking Valerian root capsules.

1 after the first 5 capsules, started working like a dream. this is what normal people must be like, they are tired, lie on their bed, close their eyes and literally within 3 mins you are asleep. it was wonderful.

2 back in the day knew nothing about dieting and triggers and was eating pretty much everything but it did seem to help, hence my subsequent conviction that IBS must have a lot to do with seratonin levels. but I wouldn't wish to pronounce a judgement on this as it was a long time ago.

I had to stop regrettably. the nightmares (common side-effect) were so disturbing that I just could not cope with that.

[I've tried VSL#3 -> I could tolerate v good amounts of IF (even with less SF), it worked great (but overall I find it too expensive)]
