Since 1g = 1,000mg., that's a half gram. I used to take the capsules until -- like you -- I checked on the AMOUNT of FIBER in each and was shocked to discover I was WAY below the minimum. I stopped taking the Citrucel, ordered Heather's acacia, and am just now starting to increase my acacia. (And I feel a LOT better because of it!) By the way, I "discovered" Citrucel from my GI, who had a "display" of the stuff in his office.
