taking antibiotics for sinus infection       01/10/07 12:46 PM Edit Reply Quote zippo Reged: 11/01/06 Posts: 10 I've been sick since Friday, and I went to my doctors on Monday and he said he thinks I have a sinus infection. He was going to put me on an antibiotic, but I said I'd rather not use them if possible. He said ok, but I'd have to come back if I didn't get better. It's now Wednesday and I'm not any better, so I called and asked them to prescribe one for me which I assumed would be Amoxicillin since I am allergic to the Z-Pack. Instead, he wants me on Augmentin since he says it is more powerful and he thinks that the Amoxicillin might not work for me. It has worked for me in the past, but I guess if you use it too much it loses its effectiveness. I don't know if I should take Amoxicillin against my doctors orders or go with the Augmentin which I think will kill my stomach. Any advice? Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
