Anything that's insoluble fiber isn't going to be completely broken down and digested by the body - that's kind of the whole point. Some of the tougher stuff, like seeds and corn hulls, might not break down at all. Even people who don't have IBS will find stuff like that in their stool.

I wouldn't even be concerned about the seaweed. It's a softer insoluble in terms of chewing it, but there's still a certain toughness to it.
