Before waiting in line to eat at a buffet, You might want to check out what they serve. Good idea! Some of the really cheap buffets just serve deep fried high fat items. I have discovered that the Buffets at Excaliber and Circus Circus have almost nothing that is IBS safe. Hmmm, I suspect that is true for Circus Circus, but I was at the Excalibur in March and found it to be one of the best for IBS. I was there for dinner. I always thought the Carnival round the world buffet at the Rio was the biggest but have since learned off of an info web site info that the Excalibur is. BTW, if I remember right they had different sections way far away from each other so it may be easy to miss some of the stations that would have safe food. It's hard to remember exactly what you eat where, but I think, at the Excalibur I got plain rice, cold peeled shrimp, baked chicken and baked fist. Can't remember what else. But yes, as far as being one of the lesser expensive, you're right. Here are the prices: web page The MGM, Mirage, Treasure Island, and Orleans buffets all have good choices, from grilled fish, shrimp,grilled and baked chicken, fresh baked rolls, and some even have plain white rice as a SF base. I found my hardest to eat at was Treasure Island for lunch. They had reduced the size of the entire buffet from when I had been there last. Hopefully dinner is better. I have another problem and that is I eat GF so although I can't comment on the breads/rolls I was always judging a place by if they had plain rice and plain baked potatoes. BUT, it's a great idea to ask to take a look-see first.

I understand the Orleans is one the locals go to since it is off the strip and good for the price. Have you been there?


Along with comfortable walking shoes, wear comfy clothes. Amen to that. Layered I found is best. If hot out you can peel down, and if cold in the casinos you have extra right with you. Nights, except in the dead of summer can get nippy. Be carefull about some skirts, it can get pretty breazy along the strip. I wouldn't wear skirts there but for those who do, yes this could be a problem. Thanks...I never thought of this one.
The fanny pack is perfect for Vegas! Oh, how I've learned this the hard way!!!

Hmm, how can I put this? This is a very individual choice. It all depends on how much "stuff" you normally carry with you in a purse. If you normally carry only a small handbag with just the esentials then a "fanny pack" (you know, the kind that just hooks around your waist to keep your hands free) will work just fine. Your purse is then in front of you at all times. (Back packs are not a smart choice since sometimes you will be in crowded areas and althought Vegas has a very low crime rate, a backpack may be an easy target for theft.) But, if you're like me......and you hate to pay $3 for a small bottled water, or like a pair of extra shoes, or crackers or bars if you feel the need to eat something inbetween meals, a camera, and all the fiber and digestive enzymes pills, a few JB's, etc......then it's hard to cram it all into a fanny pack. I've even seen people with fanny packs but with those cloth totes on wheels in case they shop and don't want to arm carry stuff. It's really a personal decision here. I'm never happy with what I choose. If I have a fanny pack then I find I don't have some stuff I want at the time. If I carry a normal (and normal for me is BIG) then I'm happy to have all my stuff, but it sure gets heavy in a hurry.
Sooo, I'd say it's what ever you normally would take to an all day amusement park is what would work for you.

but be sure to keep cash and room keys safe. I break up the cash that I plan to spend that day into several different pockets and places on my person. Keep your credit cards out of your purse and on your person as well. Good idea.
