Wow, we missed you. It's just not the same without you!! Isn't that sweet--------missed you all too........but I noticed you all "held down the fort" while I was gone!!!
The husband that cooks is a real blessing let me tell you. His mom's a gourmet cook and he learned from her when he was staying at home for college. He made spaghetti with clam sauce for me for our FIRST DATE!! The recipe is posted on the recipe board actually. I tagged that recipe....It sounds sooooo good!!!!...I adore clams.....in fact any seafood, but clams????????? oh yeah........just wish I could eat fried clam strips.. Then I moved into his apartment and he's a total control freak and wouldn't let me use his kitchen because he was afraid I'd mess it up or break something. (Yeah, I might have reinforced him in that belief, accidently on purpose. he he!) So he kept doing the cooking and just never stopped. He loves it, it's his hobby. He's even taken cooking classes. I'm a very lucky woman!! You are darn lucky.........I think, not only did you pick the right one since you didn't have to retrain him......but he keeps getting better at it.......how good is that? (I pay in other ways though, you better believe it! I'll bet you do...hehe---don't we all? )
A fibro 5 is what I expect most days and what I've been averaging. If I feel a little better or worse, no biggee, I just modify my plans for the day accordingly. So I'm ALWAYS happy with a 5. It's the 2's and 3's we don't like. Well, that's what I sorta thought, but had to ask. It is so unfair that you have more 5's and below than above 5's..........but like Andy says, "this too will pass"......(do you yell, "BUT WHEN????"
Carr's cookies are something my gourmet hubby turned me on to. They're English "biscuits" for tea and they're not too sweet so they're only 70 cals each. And all the ingredients are IBS safe. They even use real sugar instead of HFCS, because they're made in England. I call them "grownup cookies" because one time my 8 year old niece and I were looking in the cupboard for a snack for her and she saw "cookies!" but I told her she wouldn't like them because they weren't very sweet. You should have seen the face she made!! cute story. Hmmm, I've seen Carrs.......and in fact I have a similar type cookie I buy..but it's GF.........actually it is a Rice Bran cracker..but sweet enuf to sub as a cookie as far as I'm concerned. Don't you just love the fact that the Euro countries haven't caught on to the HFCS craze? I buy a preserve from France, right in the grocery store, because it uses sugar, not HFCS. And I just found a BBQ sauce that didn't use the junk either..........I'm in heaven.....And then there is my organic, clear root beer (for which I took a ribbing about) that I love because it uses sugar too.
Now what's this about homemade creme de menthe?????? Sounds fabulous!! Here is is. Maybe you can get Andy to make it...it's super easy and hubby says it's smoother than the store bought. Although I can't do peppermint caps I can have some of this after a meal (or before) and it calms the tummy.... Creme de Menthe Have you ever had a Stinger.....?
Well, I don't drink them, but hubby has one almost every night.......but he has a scotch stinger and that is why I always have to have some Creme de menthe on hand...........Now if you were coming to Vegas, you could taste some............I intend to bring some of my homemade. Since I'm driving in, I can do that....
Wishing you a good day LS.........lunch time for me.........I have a drunk chicken on the grill calling my name, so it's time to dive in............yummmmm

I love this thing. Just used it for the first time and it sure makes it easy. I know you were asking, Shell, about making Drunk chicken (or Beer Butt chicken).........I got mine at Lowes, I think about $5. Certainly not as expensive as you see here. ChickCan Rack
Just thought you'd like to see how it works. OH HOW COOL... I need to get me one of these!! You don't eat the skin do ya?? NO WAY... Do I eat the skin, but I've been known to suck the dry rub flavorings off of it. Besides, it's crispy but also a bit tough. It holds all the juices in.................yum. I wonder now what the cals were for a leg (drumstick and thigh). I think around 300 cals. Does that sound right? Kandee
