Oh no. He couldn't have cared less. It didn't feel right to change my name to his, as I only have one male cousin and he doesn't seem likely to have kids. Plus it's been my name for my whole life, and my parents always said they gave me a boring first name to balance out my last name. Well, his last name is not very exciting and then NEITHER of my names would have been interesting.  I look at marriage as a merger of two people's histories and backgrounds. So for awhile, we talked about both hyphenating our names. But in the end we decided we didn't care enough and were too darn lazy to fill out paperwork and get new social security cards and stuff. But we'll hyphenate our kids names. I'm not a person that's very hung up on tradition and neither is he!
