ok, let's see. today i will:

go get my tea at lunchtime and sit in the sun for 10 minutes or so (it feels energizing!). of course, it is really overcast, but maybe i'll just sit there anyway for the fresh city air! / Good for you! It gives you time to sit and rest, reflect and soak up some sun and Vitamin D! DONE! i got my tea, talked to an old friend for a few minutes, walked around the block and then sat outside for 10 minutes. i feel fairly good! i've been reading that we need about 10 minutes of sun a day for the Vitamin D, hence my 10 minute goal (it's not just random!) but if i get too hot i get dizzy so sometimes it may only be 5 min. which is better than nothing!

no Coke today (harder than it sounds lately- i've been using it for energy boosts and then crashing after. not good!) / May I ask WHY you feel the need for a Coke? Is it the caffeine, the sugar, the bubbles, force of habiit of being able to have a coke in the past? What? it's probably a combination of the above. when i get sleepy i know that a soda can help for a little while, then i crash. also, it's a comfort-food thing. NO Coke yet, today. usually i cave in before noon, so we're doing well!

in bed extra early today / This is ALWAYS a good idea, no matter who you are. I only got 4 and a half last night so need to get some more in somewhere today.

frequent stretch breaks at work. one an hour! / What kinds? Yoga stretches, or just what ever comes into mind that a part of your body feels you need? some yoga stretches and some that my physical therapist showed me on Friday to stretch out my back. i have read how important stretching is to fibro patients. it DOES seem to be helping, as do my little walks!

trying to keep a little food in my stomach all the time- eating every 2 hours. (hoping to fight off nausea. LS' suggestion) / Are you taking a ginger cap with those frequent meals? (It helps.) Are you taking vitamins at all? i forget to take the ginger caps. i ought to toss them in my tote bag with the rest of my meds. i just keep forgetting. they weren't helping with that nausea from last week, but i bet they'd help this kind. *mental sticky note: GINGER CAPS!* i don't take vitamins but i do make sure to get calcium via soy milk or soy yogurt.

oh yeah- i forgot: i'm supposed to be calling to find a new doctor. i'll do that today, too. / How come? oy. well, i think it's important to feel validated by your doctor. i've read enough to know that fibro is not in my head and that it's a real and seriously painful condition. my new rhumatologist doesn't believe in letting her fibro patients take time off 'cause one specialist told her "once the patient takes off work you may as well stop treating her- she'll get into the routine of taking off and never get well." ahem. i don't happen to believe that and i'm not looking for a reason not to be at work. i prefer to be working. but if i'm having a bad day or couple of days, i need to be able to rest and i need my doctor to fill the paperwork out for it or i'll lose my job. i hate my job, but i kind of need it. so, i have to find a new doctor that is more practical. besides, this doctor is due to have a baby in a few days and i'd have to see one of her partners anyway. may as well make the switch now. (i have a theory that her attitude reflects on her partners, so i'll be looking for a new doctor/practice instead of seeing someone else in her practice. anyway, i had 2 names that were highly recommended off of a fibro site. i called both and neither works with my insurance. so... back to the drawing board. i'll have to do some more research tonight on the home computer. well, at least i made some calls!

WHEW! that was a lot! anyway, i'm doing good today!
