I tried a post on the "Eating for IBS" board and had one response that was not relevant, so am trying again here. I was diagnosed with MC (lympocytic colitis varity) this year and see references/comparisons to IBS. In fact, meds such as Asacol are for IBS but are also used for MC. I have a prescription for Asacol that I haven't filled yet--could it be the $4000 yearly cost, side effects or difficulty swallowing? I will get a Part D drug plan Jan 1, but until then wonder if the Eating book might help. Dr has me on Metamucil, which really seemed to help and I thought I was "cured" for 5 months then big D is back for 2 months. Since MC is an inflamation of the colon maybe someone on this board knows something about this disease or can steer me in some direction. Many thanks!
