By the way, how do you know you "constantly have inflammation"? Have you had more than the one colonoscopy? Or does your doctor palpate your abdomen to find tender areas that might indicate inflammation? Constant inflammation of the colon isn't normal and it's not healthy - I think your "wondering" is probably a good little nudge to get a second opinion - especially when your primary care leans one way and the specialist can't find anything, but you still have the problem. It would seem reasonable to me for your primary care to send you to a second gastro doc to find out for sure what's going on, to definitely rule out Inflammatory Bowel Disease (which can take some pretty serious forms - but which can also have a mild form, treatable sometimes by one or two courses of meds).
