Hair loss can be the result of the disease. Any time your body goes through a trauma, such as a disease or a surgery, you are at risk for losing hair. Sometimes, it is also the result of malnurishment as attributed to inflamed intestines not taking in enough nutrients. And other times, it can be related to medication. Asacol, like most of the 5-ASA drugs, can cause hair loss. However, this is likely to be short term and it will grow back. Trust me. I went through it, too, and survived.
