Has anyone ever heard of plum ketchup? Tomato ketchup is too acidic for me. I came across this recipe, but I'm not sure about it. What do y'all think?

Plum Ketchup
3 dozen (about 3 pounds) ripe red plums, pitted and cut in half
3/4 cup cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

In a large saucepan, bring plums and vinegar to a boil. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes, or until plums are mushy.

Puree in a blender or food processor, return to pan and add the spices. Mix well. Simmer about 45 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture is as thick as tomato ketchup.
Store in refrigerator, tightly covered. Makes about 4 cups.

Sounds like the "plum sauce" they serve at some Chinese restaurants. Yum! Will have to give this a try some time.
