Heather,
I have 4 WW recipes for using the angel food cake mix with different things. I am posting 3 of them (I assume pie filling is IBS safe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) The fourth recipe calls for orange gelatin and mandarin oranges. Is that safe?

Pumpkin Angel Food Cake
1 angel food cake mix
1 can pumpkin (16 oz.)
1 cup water
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Follow baking instructions on the box. (serves 12/WW pts-3)

Lemon Angel Food Cake
1 box of angel food cake mix
1 can of lemon pie filling
Mix the 2 together. Pour into a large jellyroll pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Bake at 325 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Apple Pie Angel Food Cake
1 angel food cake mix
1 can (20 oz) no sugar added apple pie filling
5 T. cinnamon
water

Mix the cake mix and pie filling. Add water until it's a good consistency (thick but pourable and fairly smooth). Pour into a 9 X 13 inch pan and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake at 350 at least 30 minutes or until when you shake the pan it barely wiggles. Tastes like apple pie. (12 servings/3 WW points) Can also add 2 tsp. apple pie spice.

Hi- You'd have to check the pie filling ingredients. If they've added high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors/flavors/preservatives, be wary. Same goes for jello or gelatin - they virtually always add artifical flavors, colors, etc. and lots of people with IBS are sensitive to those. Mandarin oranges combined with soluble fiber should be fine (and I'd guess delicious as a replacement for the pineapple in the original recipe for this cake).

Is it really 5T of cinnamon in the apple recipe? That's a super high amount.

That's what I had written down, but it seemed like a lot to me too, so maybe it's supposed to be 5 tsp!!! Sorry for the confusion.

EASY Pineapple/Peach Cobbler

1/3 box graham crackers, crushed up into pieces.
1 lg. can crushed pineapple
2 reg. sized cans peaches
1 white or yellow cake mix (think you could use the angelfood cake instead) * see below
Layer this in a 9/13 pan, starting w/lst ingred. and dot w/marg. on top.

Bake 350-375 for abt. 40-50 mins. till starts to bubble thru or turns a bit browned. Think I've had to cook it an hr. at times.

Delicious hot or cold. I've had many compliments on this and it's sooooo easy. Cool whip on top if you can tolerate it.

The only thing I don't know here is if we can use regular cake mixes.......but I would think you could sub the angel food for it. Maybe fill in w/ extra graham crackers as angel food is not at dense as regular cake mix.

If anyone tries this w/the angel food mix, pls. let me know how it turns out.

I know this can be done w/other fruits too but don't know just what ones.

Marnie
