I was trying to find a crock pot recipe to use today and I found this.I'm wondering if there is anything about it that would make it not IBS safe.
Tomato and Basil Ziti w/Roasted Vegs. 1 med. red onion, roughly chopped 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped 1 med. carrot julienned 1 c. prepared tomato and basil pasta sauce 1- 10 oz. package frozen spinach, defr. and drained 1- 14 oz. can tomatoes, undrained and crushed 1- 8 oz. can tomato sauce 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 tsp.crushed red pepper 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. fresh gr. pepper 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. thyme 1/2 tsp. sage 3 Tbs. fresh Italian Parsley 1 c. lowfat mozarella cheese grated 10 oz. ziti pasta, cooked al dente, drained Combine all the ingredients, except the moz. cheese and pasta, in the crock pot. Cover: cook on high for 3-4 hours(on low for 6-8 hours). For each individual serving, place a serving of the pasta , sprinkled w/the moz. cheese, in a pasta bowl and then ladle the pasta sauce over the top. Makes 6 servings; 2 grams of fat per serving.

Su, as long as you use mozarella soy cheese it should be perfectly fine. Looks yummy!

Hi Kree, Thanks for the help. The dinner was sooo good. I was a little gasey, but no bloating or pain.It might be that thoses onions got me.I love them but they do often hit the gas pedal. I am finding that I feel better if I eat something lighter(w/out meat) at dinnertime.I may need to look into a vegetarian cookbk. for some dinner ideas.

I'm so glad your sauce came out well! And I know exactly what you mean about feeling better when you eat lighter. Even when I do make a "heavier" dinner like a thick soup or stew I make sure to only take small portions because I also feel so much more comfortable that way. I guess we have to do what works best for us!

I never put 2+2 together...but heavy meals DO make me feel yucky afterwards. Thanks!
We eat a meal called Cholent on Shabbos day. We make it meatless in my house...1.5 raw onion, raw beans, raw barley, raw potatoes, put it in the crockpot with spices and corn syrup free ketchup. I always feel so SICK after I eat some...and sleepy too. Now I know WHY! It's my IBS again!
Thanks so much for clearing this up for me *hugs*
