For regular use, I use Smart Balance Light, which is perfect for me.

But for baking, I've been experimenting with different things and trying to decide what's best. I not only need non-dairy, but also really low-fat, and good fats, for my cholesterol.

I found Earth Balance Buttery Sticks. They may be the best, but the Saturated Fat level is still pretty high.

I heard Benecol is better, but can it be used for baking?

Thanks!!!

Carolyn

Anyything in margarine soft form doesnt bake well. So far the earth balance stick works for me. But I have also using organic unsweetened applesauce to replace oil or butter and its lowfat. I also found organic brown rice syrup in my local HFS. It is gluten free and is FF with no Trans fat or saturated. This can be use of honey, sugar, maple syrup fro baking, energy bars ect..
