Well, I couldn't remember if I'd posted this recipe idea yet, but when I did a search for it, nothing came up. I don't even know what to call it, but I adapted it from a sandwich restaurant I used to order from a long time ago called Sacks (if I am remembering how to spell their name correctly, it's been a long time).

Ingredients:
2 slices of sourdough bread
1-2 Tbsp Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese
2 tsp jellied cranberry sauce
4 slices of oven-roasted turkey from your grocer's deli
4-6 slices of red onion
2-4 hamburger-style pickles

Directions:
Spread desired amount of Tofutti on each slice of sourdough bread.

Place turkey slices on one slice of bread.

Spread desired amount of jellied cranberry sauce over the turkey.

Layer on top a few slices of red onion and hamburger-style pickle slices, and place the other slice of bread on top.

Cut sandwich in half, if desired.

(You can use regular, fat-free, or low-fat cream cheese instead of the Tofutti if your tummy can handle it.)

That sounds really similar to a sandwich my dad makes, except he mixes light mayo and cranberry sauce, and then puts that on the sandwich - a good option for someone who can't get soy cream cheese (like me!). But he doesn't put pickles on it, and I bet that's tasty - I'll have to try it!

Ohhh nooo, no way to get soy cream cheese?? If I could, I'd buy you my favorite brand and ship you a couple tubs, *giggle*. I don't have easy access to anything but plain, but I feel I easily understand how to incorporate additional seasoning/flavor into plain. The only kind I ever found was Tofutti, and it's very, very decent - actually I don't really miss the real thing at all. Let me know if you try it and if you liked it.
