Maple Baked Chicken #141435
Source: www.recipezaar.com - recipe by Audrey M

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon table salt (to taste)
1/8 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
1 lb uncooked boneless skinless chicken breasts, four 4-oz pieces
cooking spray
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground sage
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
3/4 cup fat-free chicken broth

Preheat oven to 350.
Stir together flour, salt and pepper. Dust chicken with flour mixture, patting off excess.
Coat a large nonstick, ovenproof frying pan with Pam. Add chicken and brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.
Stir together maple syrup, thyme and sage and pour over chicken. Lay onions over chicken and then pour chicken broth over all.
Cover and bake 1 hour, basting occasionally with pan sauce.

Side dish ideas? And also, what kind of frying pan can be put into the oven? And type skillet? A handle-free one of some sort?

Thanks!

Hi Beth - I usually serve this with some kind of potato side dish (usually just baked, but sometimes mashed or roasted) and a veggie.

I know there are certain skillets that can go in the oven, but I'm not sure which they are. I usually just prepare this on the stove and then dump it into a casserole dish to put it in the oven.

Can I ask what type of veggie you serve? I am so bad with putting meals together!

I'll take your advice on the casserole dish. That's a great idea!

My typical go-to veggies are peas or corn. The corn depends on how bad of a tummy day I am having.

And so easy to make! Hardly any prep at all!

I cooked it with the onion, but removed the onion before eating.

YUMMY!
