I found this recipe in an old Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I only modified the amount of canola oil used. It is super delicicious as a sauce or marinade. I especially love it on jasmine rice and sauteed veggies! My mother and I are IBS-D and never have any problems after eating it!

2 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. Canola oil
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tso. ground mustard

Makes 3-4 servings

Thanks, this looks great. I love teriyaki sauce but am often paranoid about bottled ones. And a lot of recipes have vinegar in them, which I don't necessarily like.

This really does look good. How much chicken does that marinate? Do you usually grill or cook it in the oven? How long do you marinate it?

Thanks for your help! Can't wait to try it.

It usually marinates about two to three average sized breasts. I most often cut them into bite sized pieces and marinate in a bag and the stir fry. I imagine you can grill or bake as well. If I baked, I'd probably cook for about 40 minutes to an hour depending on the thickness of the breasts.

This sauce is also delicious on veggies. I stir fry any assortment in it. I also heat it on the stove or microwave and put it on white rice!

Enjoy!

Did you use the entire Tablespoon of Oil for this? Or did your reduce it? I have a problem with fat and not sure if this would be soo much.

Thanks

I use a full tablespoon, but I have made it without the oil entirely when my stomach felt especially touchy. I didn't notice much of a change in the consistency and zero change in the taste. You'd be just fine leaving it out
