I've been having the worst allergies this year for some reason. It's ragweed that kills me!!

Nothing I take seems to work at all!! I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a good medication or anything I can do to get some kind of relief...

*sneeze*

Houston is awful for allegries and since we have moved to a wooded subdivision I have had a real painful pressure in my ears but the doctors say my ears look fine. We are trying the Zyrtec-D but I have the shakes from the decongestant. I am not sure which is worse...the shakes or the pain!

Thanks Kimm!

Gee, have you thought of going the homeopathic route? I don't know off ahnd anything to try though. I hear bee pollen (as long as you're not allergic to it) can work.

Try an herbal tea that contains golden rod, or make one out of it.

It's great for allergies.

Hehe, I have a whole slew of herbal/natural uses for plants you can find around home.

OMG! I live in Ontario too and my allergies are SO BAD. I woke up this morning..and my eyes were the size of like plums..almost glued shut...and the sneezing, itchy throat and UH! its horrible! ive tried everything too...and the only thing that works is benedryl..but once you take it..it knocks you out! I took one the other day..and i fell asleep about an hour later.. and i was in the DEAPEST sleep ever...But i find taking it at night helps a bit..when do your allergies bug you the most? Mine are Early in the morning and late at night. Well, i know i am no help, i just wanted to share my story, and maybe i can get help too!

You probably know this already, but if you take a shower, wash your hair and sleep on clean linens (every night) it is supposed to help a little. Whatever pollen is on your hair and body is getting on your linens while you sleep and you breathe it in. Put a clean pillowcase on just before you go to bed so you won't have any pollen from the days air on it.
I don't have bad problems with pollen, but I do get mild symptoms.

I was on Reactine(Zyrtec) but was taking 3 a DAY to get it to work.I am on Claritin and it's working slightly better, but I've heard the new drugs Allegra and Aerius are phenomenal. Here, these are all OTC, our American friends might have to ask a doc for a RX for the last 2.

it's awful because it gives you rebound reactions, but it doesn't go into your bloodstream, and it clears your sinuses without making you high. But, like I say, you can get physically addicted to it.
