New to Hypnosis

Hi! I'm new to this board. I started the Self-Hypnotherapy last night. I fell asleep because I was so relaxed. Are there any helpful hints or tips I should know about the self hypnosis that Michael does not explain in his commentary? Any advise is greatly appreciated!

Hi Kappy - Congrats on your upcoming wedding! It is perfectly fine to fall asleep during your sessions. Read thru your entire booklet. More info in the link below. All the best to you in your journey to feeling better...

It's coming along, that's about all I can say. I am in session 2 now. I had no problems with my stomach for almost three weeks until last week. It seems that since I've started the second session, my bowels have been acting up more and more.
Does this mean anything? Or am I just overthinking it? Are my bowels resisting change from the hypnosis?
I need some help, I haven't felt this badly in a long time! My stomach looks about six months pregnant!

Hypnotherapy will not make you worse nor give you additional symptoms - you have had IBS longer than the time you have been doing the hypnotherapy - it is not a quick fix but requires time and being gentle with yourself as you go through the process -
You may be overthinking things, or perhaps there are other or new stressors going on in your life. Session two deals with many aspects of IBS - motility issues as well as anxiety issues related to the IBS - just continue on and let the process do its work - also - try not to read about IBS on the internet or elsewhere while doing the program - while it is good to have support, the program was developed to lead you away from IBS thoughts, and reading just brings them back.
While it is sometimes a fact of "shadow fears" where the body begins to feel better and then "fights" change with symptoms reappearing for awhile, you are early in the program, so most likely that isnt the case yet, though, I suppose it could be possible. But just know that others have felt as you do, during the program, and then have seen improvement - so keep with it... take care.

Not a problem at all - you can actually listen to the introduction whenever you like as it is not a formal therapy session - so no worries. Take care!
