Have you ever had to cancel a trip or family event because of your IBS?

This question was posted by the IBSGroup.org on Facebook. The overwhelming answer was "yes, all the time". Can we get some responses here. Are we healthier or more well adjusted to IBS?

Cheers.

Well, because of IBS I never plan or go anywhere.. so there is never a need to cancel! Horrible I know, I'm hoping the hypnotherapy will help me there becasue that is no way to live.

I'm in the same boat as you. Only on Sunday morning I FORCE myself to go to see my son and grandchildren for 1/2 hour or less. Including driving time I'm away from home for about an hour. I tried a hypnotherapist and then the Audio 100 program several years ago to no avail. I hope you have better results. Good Luck!

Cheers.

Didn't I read somewhere that you may need to do the Audio 100 Program maybe 2-3 times?
Did you see ANY difference at all after one go?
I am thinking that I read that with each time, the improvements will add up.

No doubt someone will come on and correct me if I'm wrong....lol.

I also try to NOT commit to plans very often, and when I do, I cancel all the time. Sometimes I make it if the drive is short, and I am in a somewhat controlled environment. Otherwise, I cancel more than I make or just stay home alone. I never go on vacation unless it is to a very close friends home or my dad's house out of state. And then I make the rules clear- don't make plans! We are just visiting together and play it by ear. What a joy I am!!

I have, but since I have been stable, it is infrequent.

Nope. Might not have felt the greatest, but never cancelled. Used to deal with mostly C, so you didn't need a john handy. Hated the D and the panic, give me C any day.

Nowadays I don't suffer from either.

I went to a professional hypnotherapist doing gut directed hypnotherapy for about 3 months 1hour/$100 per week. He got me to "act as if" like in the 12 step programs. Any "improvement" wore off quickly. The I did the Audio Program 100 several times. It did not help. In my unpopular opinion, it was annoying – having me picture myself in a room in a room with an adjustable dial to control the speed of my digestion. I sold the program used on Amazon. So as not to ruffle any more feathers, that's all I'll say about it.

I bought another cd by John Parada – at "changenow.com" which also did not help but was not as annoying.

Cheers.

Forgot to answer the original question...duhhhhh

Was originally for many years C and this did not stop me from going anywhere. Was terribly uncomfortable at times and sometimes in outright pain, but none the less, I went.

Now then...when I changed to D, that was a different story!
It prevented me from going to many things and doing soooo much. Being uncomfortable/in pain, is faaar different than sh*ting your pants in the car or in public or someones home.

I had many many years of both forms and would take C any day.

During the last week or so, I am beginning to believe I am inexplicably changing from D to C. My D was somewhat under control as pseudo D - I was going 1 to 4 times a night and after eating breakfast I almost always emptied out. The only urgency was rushing from my bedroom to the toilet which I learned to do well with few accidents. Now if I become C I don't know what to expect. Help!
