I'm sorta new to these boards, but not to IBS. I just got the Eating For IBS book and the fiber. I'm ready to change!
I love burgers, can't give them up. How well are turkey or veggie burgers tolerated? Anything I should look out for? (fat content)
Thanks! Jeremiah

Try making your own burgers using ground chicken or turkey. My hubbys allergic to turkey so I make mine with ground chicken breast and add kethcup, brown sugar, some celery, bread crumbs and egg white. They are super yum but tend to dry out so cook slowly. Have fun!

I eat the Morning Star brand vege burger and do perfectly fine with it. For me it is one way to get veges since i dont do good with them with meals.

There's a post in progress on the Recipe Board right now that has links to three different turkey/chicken burgers. You can give them a try and see if you like them. Plus there are lost more burger recipes in the Recipe Index.
For storebought, do watch the fat content. The whole meal should not be more than 25% of calories from fat so consider the burger plus the bun and any side dishes (like Oven Fries, yum). Also all white meat turkey or chicken is a safer bet than whole poultry.
HTH.
