I've been getting them a lot. Maybe it's part of the whole spasms in the system?

That's a new one on me, never heard of it related to IBS. Have you done a search of the boards to see if it's been discussed before?

As far as I know, I don't think it is.

I don't know if it is or not, but I have noticed that I get them more often when my tummy is worse. I posted a question about it a while back but didn't get much response. I've had hiccups frequently my whole life. I think there is some connection. It makes sense to me. Spasms of the diaphram. Goes along with my spasms of the colon.

I don't know if it's a symptom or not, but I tend to get hiccups either when my stomach is really uneasy and sometimes when I'm really hungry. My parents have told me I've done that my entire life, and I'm 34 now.

I get hiccups alot. I have always attributed it to my GERD and hiatal hernia more than IBS. I am not sure why I get them and there doesn't seem to be a pattern. They can be painful too.

I called my doctors office and the nurse said that hiccups can be a symptom of GI problems. Just another one to add to the list.
