Hi all,
Having a gaseous stomach seems to be my worst symptom from IBS and I am wondering what anyone recommends for treating this problem. Any help you can give me would be great!

fennel tea works wonders at helping to release the pressure and I also take simethicone (aka Gas-x) capsules that help with trapped gas. Hope this helps Bethany

I concur that Gas-X does alleviate some of the gassiness. I am a long time IBS-D sufferer and gassiness is my constant companion. Gas-X hasn't solved the problem but it does help some.

gassy stomach and bloating are my 2 biggest problems moresore than D or C. actually I very rarely ever get D. but my tummy seems bloated most days and gassy. I drink fennal tea everyday doesnt help much and I take something like gas x but havent found a magic cure yet. It is troublesome.

I can definitely relate! I swear by the end of the day I'll undoubtedly be bloated and/or gassy. I find that fennel tea and heather's peppermint caps help me. The caps actually contain fennel oil too. I know everyone is different, but those caps work so many wonders for me.
I've taken Gas X and Mylanta Gas, but neither helped me much and they just made me feel sick to my stomach/nauseas. You couldn't pay me to take them again!
But as you can see, they do work for some!
Take care and let us know if you discover something!

I personally don't recommend a chemical (Gas X or whatever) solution. Following Heather's diet is the best approach combined with sticking to foods that agree with you.
For example, in my case, I suffered from a lot of gas until I switched to Heather's diet, cut out certain things (onions for one!) and switched to organic food. This put me on the road to recovery.
May you find your solution soon!
