Anyone interested in a N. Illinois/Chicago Get-together Sometime?

I am in Rockford. (It's an hour west on 90 for you Chicagoans. I say this only because I've had people who live in the city ask me where Rockford is.) We could invite folks from Iowa and Southern Wisconsin, too.

Wouldn't have to be in the city, necessarily. Maybe someplace like Woodfield would be easier. Or, heck, even Rockford. I know of at least 2 museums we could see.

Sounds good to me. I have family in Crystal Lake and that is only 3 hours from me.

Definitely wouldn't be to far for this Iowan to drive. And to add few museums in on top...lovely!

Where in Iowa do you live? Anywhere near Davenport/Bettendorf? I went to school near there!

I stop in rockford all the time to and from my in-laws cottage in Wisconsin. I think I've eaten in every restaurant on 20!!!

depending on when- we might be able to meet you- we've talked about a weekend or overnight trip out there for awhile.

Oh, good! There's interest! When would be a good date? If we stay around Rockford, I can coordinate. I know of some good eats and am part of the museum community, so that part would be a snap. I can also think of a hotel or two if we wanted to reserve a block of rooms even.

If we go in closer to Chicago, I'll need some help. I don't get into Chicago or even the western 'burbs nearly as much as I thought I would when I moved to Rockford.

Heather, if you're reading, should we move this thread back to the get together board?

Sounds good to me. Any excuse to visit relatives and meet IBS friends is on the top of my list for things to do.

I just found this site and also just moved to Marengo, any suggestions on where a good place to shop for IBS safe foods.

I am over in Cedar Rapids. Although my folks live in Clinton which is just north of Davenport. I love going down there to shop at either Northpark or Southpark Malls. Hard to believe how much it changes there. Are you a St. Ambrose or Augustana student?

We also have family over in the Sterling/Rock Falls area of Illinois. Definitely a midwest kind of gal.
