Is there any reason satsumas would cause upset stomach? I just ate one and now 30 min later my stomach doesn't feel well (last time i ate one about a year ago i remember having D)...or is it something else i could have eaten? I can drink orange juice with no problem. I do not have GERD.

They contain lots of insoluble fiber - about 2 grams per 100. In particular, the think skin around each segment is high in insoluble fiber. Orange juice contains much less insoluble fiber. Can you handle insoluble fiber?

What is that comparable to? Is there a lot of Vitamin C in them?
I can handle quinoa, brown rice, and veggies raw and cooked (although i do get gas with most beans). I do have problems with oat fiber/bran, barley, and whole wheat.

Maybe the best thing to compare them to is unpeeled vegetables. There is a fair amount of vitamin C in all citrus fruit although you can get plenty of vitamin C from other sources too.

Thanks, you always have great sources. I asked about Vit C because i know too much of it in a day can give you D.
I think its something else I ate though or maybe I ate it on an empty stomach before because I tried eating a satsuma again (I made sure I ate some SF first) and I felt fine...thank goodness because they are so yummy and are always on sale in the winter over here!

My boss at work just had a box of these shipped in and boy are they good. I never liked eating oranges until I tried these ones. I've been eating a lot of them with no troubles whatsoever.
