Is beef jerky a big no no for IBS? I know red meat in general is a trigger although I can occasionally have a small burger with no problem.
Well yesterday I was out shopping with my daughter and she wanted beef jerky so we bought a pack and I had a little. Then I had terrible burning in the lower half of my back for the next 3 hours. I have both IBS and GERD and I'm not even sure if the burning was the IBS or the GERD?

I would think beef jerky would definately be a no no - not only is it red meat but it is loaded with additives - sulphites, sugars, preservatives, and lord-knows what else. I remember trying some several years ago when I worked at a convenience store and it didn't agree with me at all!

Try some turkey jerky. I have no problems with it if I don't eat the whole package.
