Hello everyone,
Is it o.k. to use Grape Nuts as a breakfast cereal? It is barley (o.k.) and gets soft very quickly, and tastes good!! I don't find it on any of the lists.

Hi - let it soften up in the soy or rice milk and it should be just fine.

morning; ISN'T BARLEY A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP TO WHEAT? I always thought they were similar to each other.

Hi - barley (especially pearl barley) is a good soluble fiber staple. It's much, much safer than whole wheat. It does have gluten in it, as wheat does, so for celiacs it's off limits. But for IBS it should be just fine.
